Experimental psychology comprises at least 4 major areas:

- strategy: involves the broadest definition of goals and methods

- tactics: ... discribing into a text of the specific problems of interest to experimentalists and the experimental devices that have been used to solve them

- heuristics: The discipline that attemps to formulate principles of discovery

- logistics: presents a simular problem. It has to do with the practical problems involved in implementing an experiment.
